We’ve all tried to declutter our houses. We’ve all gone through those phases of needing everything to be perfectly organized! That drawer that you’ve rearranged 80 times this year? You know what I’m talking about.
The thing is, organizing is not the solution. It’s decluttering and creating routines so that things don’t get too out of control again. I know this is easier said than done, especially if you have kids who are just not on the same page as you (sorry, mom! You tried!) but it’s important to set that example and do your best so that you don’t feel overwhelmed constantly.
Another thing to consider is that the amount of pressure we put on ourselves to be perfect is absolutely crushing. We were not made to work ourselves to burnout every six months! My goal in 2020 was really to simplify my life and through that I’ve learned so much. Because it’s not about about the stuff, it’s not about another container store run, it’s about changing your mindset and getting rid of the things that are not serving you.
Maybe that’s the 3 countertop appliances you don’t really use, maybe it’s the girls day that you’ve been going to every week that leaves you drained and frustrated, maybe it’s that job you’ve been doing for a while and you’re not sure you want to continue but you stay because you feel obligated.
There are so many ways to declutter we are just scratching the surface! There will be so much more on this blog and I’m so excited to serve you!
